Mekong Delta provinces promote shrimp exports
Specifically, in the first 2 months of 2021, shrimp processing output in Ca Mau was estimated at 26,600 tons, an increase of over 38% over the same period. Thanks to the advantage of free trade agreements that Vietnam has signed with many countries, Ca Mau's shrimp export turnover from the beginning of 2021 up to now is estimated at 106 million USD, up 13% over the same period.
Similarly, the shrimp processing and exporting situations in Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, Soc Trang… also have many positive signs. A shrimp export enterprise in Bac Lieu province said: “Currently the EU market is very potential and growing positively. We have signed a number of orders with partners and are continuing to negotiate to sign more. This year, we are turning to the EU market because the export price in this market is quite good ”. Currently, the source of raw shrimp in this area is quite stable, the workforce meets the needs of production activities of the business. In addition, the Covid-19 epidemic situations in some countries around the world have changed positively, so it is forecasted that the export of shrimp products in many localities of the Mekong Delta will be more prosperous.
